Alexandra Love, LMFT, CSOTP

Alex is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider.  She has years of experience treating individuals struggling with substance abuse and the many challenges that come along with it including relationship issues, coping with difficult emotions, increasing self-control, recovering from trauma, establishing healthy relationships, and improving communication skills.  Alex believes these are challenges also faced by those for whom substance abuse is not a problem, and can assist individuals, couples, and families in improving these areas of their lives as well.

While Alex works with people dealing with many challenges such as mood disorders, anxiety, addiction, and trauma, she specializes in the treatment of juvenile and adult sexual abusers. She believes that every single person is inherently valuable and capable of change, no matter what may have happened to them or what they may have done. Alex understands that people who have sexually offended are often concerned about being judged or shamed for their mistakes so she approaches her clients with respect and non-judgment as she develops a trusting therapeutic relationship with them and partners with them in developing a better understanding of themselves and others and assists them in finding healthy ways to meet their needs and prevent reoffending.

Regardless of what brings someone into therapy, Alex's approach is collaborative and is built upon the assumption that her clients know themselves best and are the experts on themselves.  She seeks to know and understand her clients well so that she can assist them with uncovering and identifying their goals, strengths, and values to help them move forward in their lives and relationships.

Alex desires that through the work she and her clients do together, her clients will uncover and overcome blockages that create distance in relationships with themselves and others so that they are better able to give and receive love.
